Exhibition Venue: Hayward Area Historical Society Museum, 2nd Floor
Gallery: HAHS History Gallery and HAHS Art Gallery
Show dates: October 1 thru November 7
Mediums: drawings, paintings, photography, ceramics, metal, small sculptures, digital art, collages, or large sculptures such as a human-sized Catrina
Deadline to submit: September 14, 2026

Artwork Drop Off: week of Sept 21
Artwork Pick-up: week of November 9
Themes: incorporate/represent the meaning, symbolism, interpretation of Day of the Dead or a similar tradition in your culture
Please fill out this form and include a digital copy of your work
You can submit up to 4 works but we do not guarantee space for all
No nudity, images of violence or political artworks will be accepted. If you have questions, call the Curator at 510-581-0223
Artworks and designs must be original
Two-dimensional artworks must arrive ready to hang, preferably with hanging wire. Artwork must arrive dry.
Three-dimensional artworks must have a stable bottom. Items may be on open pedestals and not behind glass
It is the artist’s responsibility to drop off and pick up their works. At time of drop off, artist will be required to fill out a loan agreement with HAHS.
An identification tag with artist name, title, and medium of the piece must be attached to each artwork.
An “artist bio” binder will be available for visitors if one is provided by the artist
Art sales will NOT be conducted by HAHS
