Holidays with HAHS

Tis the season to be merry, so let HAHS help bring extra joy! Bring family and friends on any of the first three Saturdays in December to travel back in time for an old-fashioned holiday celebration.

Our complete schedule of Christmas programs is listed below. There’s something happening at each house and the HAHS Museum each of those open Saturdays, and don’t miss our special Twinkle Tours at Meek!

Family Fun Saturdays at the HAHS Museum

It's the season for cider, cookies, and crafts! In addition to visiting our history and art galleries, you can pop in to the museum on Saturdays in December to make festive crafts while enjoying hot cider and cookies in our little elves workshop. Visit on the Second Floor of 22380 Foothill Boulevard in Hayward. Drop in between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM for a different themed craft each week.

December 6: Stars | As our nights get longer during winter, the stars look brighter. Join us for star-themed crafts, including a simple version of a tissue paper Filipino parol.
December 13: Candles | Candles are significant for many December holidays. We’ll be making menorahs and kinaras, as well as learning the difference between them.
December 20: Winter Solstice | It’s almost the shortest day of the year! Make some cozy solstice and winter themed crafts with us.

Christmas at McConaghy House and Meek Mansion

Meek Mansion and McConaghy House will be decorated for the season and open for self-guided tours on December 6, December 13, and December 20 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. $5 Suggested Donation. Site specific programs are listed below.
