Welcome

Located on the east side of San Francisco Bay in California, the Hayward Area Historical Society preserves the diverse history of the Hayward, Castro Valley, and San Lorenzo area. Through educational programs, interpretive exhibitions, and the preservation of historic sites and artifacts, we show the relevance of events that happened in the past to our community today. We strive to inspire our community to investigate and understand our history as we prepare for the future.

Hours & Admission

The Hayward Area Historical Society is located at 22380 Foothill Boulevard, Hayward.

The Grand Opening of the new Museum and Research Center is scheduled for Fall 2012. Check out the Events page for information on current programs taking place around the community.

House & Archie’s Playroom – Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

McConaghy House is closed in January and on all holidays.

Admission:$5.00 adults, $3.00 Students/ Seniors (over 65), FREE for HAHS members and children under 10
