How to get involved!

Volunteering or interning can be a great way to involve yourself in the community, learn new things, meet new people or determine if a career in the museum field is right for you. We are more than willing to work around your schedule and interests.

Volunteers help make things happen and there are plenty of tasks for every interest and schedule. Check out our Volunteer Opportunities section below, then fill out our Volunteer Application Form. Or contact our Education Department at (510) 581-0223 or education@haywardareahistory.org.

We accept undergraduate and graduate students in the following fields: art, art history, business, history, liberal studies, historic preservation, museum studies or public history. We have a variety of projects to offer and are flexible with schedules.
