Local History Exhibit

The history of the Hayward area is the story of a richly diverse community that has experienced great changes over its long history. The lands that were originally inhabited by Ohlone Indians are now sprawling suburban cities and towns with a population of almost 300,000. Our permanent exhibit traces the changes and growth of the Hayward area as a transportation and cultural crossroads from the days of the Ohlone to the present.   You'll see images and artifacts from the HAHS collection.
