


Guided Visits
Bring your group or class to the Downtown Museum for a memorable and educational outing. Guided Visits are 45 to 90 minutes long and are led by a museum educator who will ensure a rich experience. Guided Visits are $35.00 per class/group. Please book at least three weeks in advance. Scholarships are available.

Curiosity Clubhouse
This fun room is designed just for children and their families. The Clubhouse is full of costumes, history cubbies, interactive exhibits, art activities, and storybooks. Many teachers find spending time in the Clubhouse a great way to wrap up their visit to the Museum by giving their students an opportunity to explore on their own.

Walking Tours:
Downtown Hayward
Starting at the Downtown Museum the walking tour gives your class/group the opportunity to stroll through downtown and learn about places of historical and cultural significance.
Earthquake Fault Guided Visit
Starting at the Downtown Museum and lasting for 45 minutes, your group will follow the path of the Hayward fault through downtown Hayward. You’ll learn about the effects of the 1868 Hayward earthquake, the last significant earthquake on the Hayward fault, and hear more about the science of earthquakes.
McConaghy House
A visit to this 19th century farmhouse opens a window into the past. This 90 minutes guided visit illustrates life in the growing communities of the Hayward area. Themes of work, social and leisure life, and technology are addressed using historic images, clothing, touchable artifacts, and period games.
