From the Byways to the Highways: Rondal Partridge Photographs California 1936-1969
March 1, 2008 - April 19, 2008
Rondal Partridge has been making photographs for most of his 85 years. He is the son of Imogen Cunningham, an apprentice to Ansel Adams, and protégé of Dorothea Lange. While all three famous photographers influenced him, Partridge's work is unique in its own right and is celebrated in the exhibition "From the Byways to the Highways: Rondal Partridge Photographs California 1936-1969."      More

Did You Know . . .

What's New at HAHS The process of shipping fruit via refrigerated rail cars, where the fruit was packed on ice, began in southern Alameda County in 1885. This innovation allowed local area farmers to ship their fruit anywhere in the county. For example, it took 10 days to get to New York where Hayward area cherries sold for $1.00/lb.
