HAHS Museum Collection

The Hayward Area Historical Society (HAHS) is dedicated to collecting three-dimensional objects that represent the history, communities and people that make up Hayward, Castro Valley and San Lorenzo. The HAHS collection contains objects from all aspects of life. It contains furniture, clothing, toys, household goods, school memorabilia, clubs and organizations memorabilia, tools, and job related items. These objects date as recently as the 21st century and extend back over 100 years. HAHS is dedicated to implementing professional museum standards in caring for the collections, in order that they may be here for people to enjoy many years in the future.

Be sure to look at our Projects page to see the steps currently being taken in this direction. In addition, visit our Collections Highlights section to see some of the wonderful items currently in the collection. HAHS also has a Wish List of items that we would like to add to our collection. You may be surprised at some of the things we are looking for!

If you are interested in donating objects to the museum please see our Donation page for further details.

If you are interested in seeing some of the improvements we are making to the storage areas please contact Heather Farquhar at 510-581-0223 or Heather@Haywardareahistory.org. Tours of the large object storage area are available by appointment.
