Collections Update
What happens when HAHS moves?

You might be wondering: "What is happening to the collections when HAHS moves?"

One of the primary reasons for moving into a larger building is to allow HAHS to better care for its collections. Consequently, all of our collections will be moved to the new location. We will not be selling, removing, or de-accessioning any of the artifacts.

Once the new collections storage area is prepared, the artifacts will be carefully wrapped and protected with appropriate padding before being boxed up. Special fine arts movers will be hired to help us move delicate items.

And once we are settled into the new place, we will again be on the lookout for items to collect that document the history of Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, Mt. Eden, and San Lorenzo.

Please stay tuned to our website or contact HAHS staff to find out when we will be able to accept artifact donations again.
